Rovers facing hectic league start - Burton Mail

31st July 1991
Gresley Rovers face a tough opening programme as they set out to defend their West Midlands League title on August 17th.

Rovers travel to newly promoted Cradley Heath on the opening day of the season but must then meet a string of last season’s Banks’s League title rivals.

Rovers meet Lye Town at the Moat Ground on August 24th then there are trips to Halesowen and local rivals Rocester in the league and last season’s runner-up Chasetown in the League Cup all scheduled for September.

Rovers manager Frank Northwood said today: “It’s a tough set of fixtures – but at least we only have to play them once!”
