Former Celtic defender Frank Nuttall will make his West Midlands League debut for Gresley Rovers in tomorrow’s match with Wednesfield at the Moat Ground (3pm).

PE student Nuttall spent two years in the Parkhead club’s youth and reserve teams before joining Abacus Welsh League side Bridgend while at university in Cardiff.

The 23-year-old has linked up with Rovers while studying for a master’s degree at Loughborough University and yesterday received clearance from the Welsh FA to play.

Rovers, however, have doubts over defender Martin Dick and midfielder Ryan Venning who faces fitness tests on ankle injuries.
