Gresley: it’s home, sweet home - Burton Mail

4th November 1991
Gresley Rovers begin their campaign for a second FA Vase trip to Wembley at the Moat Ground.

Rovers were this afternoon drawn against West Midlands League Premier Division rivals Blakenall in the second round with crucial home advantage on November 23.

Blakenall are currently third in the table, two places above Rovers who were exempt to this stage of the competition after reaching last season’s final.

Holders Guiseley also start off with a home tie – against Garforth Town.

Borrowash Victoria, who staged a remarkable fightback to overcome Mickleover RBL on Saturday, face a trip to Manchester to meet Flixton.

Gresley climbed into the West Midlands League top six at the Moat Ground yesterday after beating Oldswinford 3-0. All Rovers’ goals came in an 11-minute spell of the first half.
