Rovers bid for revenge - Andy Parker – Burton Mail

6th December 1991
Gresley Rovers meet Westfields at the Moat Ground with a dual objective tomorrow (3pm) – to consolidate their position at the top of the West Midlands Legaue and to revenge a shock early season defeat.

Rovers lost 2-1 at Westfields in August during a shaky start to the campaign to retain the league championship.

But thanks to three consecutive league wins Rovers now lead the table ahead of early pacemakers Stourport Swifts while Westfields, currently suffering an injury crisis with nine players sidelined recently, have slumped to fourth-from-bottom.

Gresley manager Frank Northwood awaits fitness reports on strikers Paul Acklam and Carl Rathbone before naming his side.
