Beazer Midland Division newcomers Gresley Rovers will meet Football Leaguers Swansea City in a pre-season friendly at the Moat Ground on August 1st.

The Welshmen have agreed to visit South Derbyshire as part of their build-up to the first campaign in the new second division.

Rovers’ secretary Rod Summers explained: “Swansea are setting up a week-long training camp at Keele University and want three games while they are up here.

“They had arranged to lay Newcastle Town and asked them to recommend some other clubs and they put our name forward.”
