Gresley Rovers face a major defensive headache with the start of the Beazer Midland campaign just two weeks away.
Manager Steve Dolby saw his back line destroyed in a 4-2 defeat at Armitage last night and admitted: Defensively, we’ve got a lot to do. We were bad at the back tonight but at the moment I don’t have many options. It’s an area I’m certainly looking to strengthen.”
Dolby hinted that he may be running out of patience when he said: “Players have got to prove they’ve got the desire to get into the team. Some are doing that, others are not showing enough.”
Rovers’ pre-season build up continues against Westfields at the Moat Ground tomorrow (3pm) in a benefit game for the family of the Hereford club’s striker Brian Preece, who was killed in a road accident.
