Barrett stays

19th July 2004

Gresley Rovers have seen off the attentions of UniBond Division One rivals Rocester and Belper as well as Premier Division, Worksop to hang on to midfielder Jamie Barrett for the coming season.

The highly rated 21 year old midfielder joined Rovers in the summer of 2002 after being released by Sheffield Wednesday and quickly established himself as a key member of the Rovers squad.

Manager Gary Norton on Barrett's signing said: "Jamie is a great player and not the type that you want to be losing to other clubs; especially those in your league. Everyone at the club is delighted that we've managed to retain his services; He's an excellent player with a big future and he's an absolute pleasure to work with."
