Elvis Gresley

The countdown to the festive season will soon begin and Gresley Rovers mascot Elvis Gresley will help by assisting with the switching on of the festive illuminations at Swadlincote on Friday 26th November 2004.

Fireworks, a fun fair, and live music are to accompany the flicking of the switch which will light up the streets of Swadlincote. The build up to the free event starts in the afternoon with live music from local schools. In the evening R & B band Frixton, boy band D: Rail, Nottingham based Grounded and solo singer Sel will entertain the grounds.

At 7:30 pm Chairman of the Council Jean Mead and Elvis Gresley will flick the switch and the festive illuminations will spark into life.
