Belper Town have announced the resignation of manager, Gary Hayward and his assistant, Andy Freeman.
Hayward was originally appointed in February 2004, when he left Gedling Town to take up his position to manage the Nailers.
Belper Chairman Phil Varney commented, "We have accepted their resignations and we are genuinely sorry that Gary and Andy are leaving the club. There is no doubt that Gary has had to contend with a number of competing personal pressures recently which have taken their toll in recent months.
He continued, "Gary agreed that he had been unable to move the club forward this season in the way that both he and the Board would have liked. Despite a massive turnover of players, he wasn't able to find enough consistency in our performances and has now decided to hand over the reins.
"We are struggling just above the relegation positions in the UniBond League but Gary's departure at this time gives a new manager the opportunity to turn things around over the next few months and to avoid the spectre of relegation" added Varney.
The club hopes to fill the vacancy quickly and is currently exploring the market for a replacement.
