| Nicky Carter |
Gresley Rovers have signed former Sutton Coldfield midfielder Nicky Carter.
Carter played in only one game for the Moat Men at the end of last season due to a groin injury but he returned during pre-season and has shone during the club's warm up games.
Manager Gary Norton said: "I've been surprised by just how well Nicky has done this summer and he can add another dimension to the side which was lacking last season. We knew he was a good player but we didn't know how good. I think we could have signed a real gem and I'm delighted he's opted to sign for us.
"He's got stronger and stronger in pre-season and I feel he brings something new to the squad. He gives us aggression, toughness, balance and he's eager to get forward and get beyond the strikers. We were lacking that bite in midfield last season and I believe that Nicky can provide it."
