Mickey Lyons for England
3rd November 2005
After impressing at trials recently held at Lilleshall, Lyons has been picked as part of a 15 man squad for the friendly international being held as part of the preparations for the European Futsal Championships next summer. On the news manager Gary Norton said: "Everyone at the club is delighted for Mickey. To have the chance to represent your country in any activity is an absolute honour and it goes without saying that everyone at Gresley Rovers wishes him the very best of luck. "Unfortunately for us his selection will mean he will miss the league game at Eastwood Town but it's not everyday you get the chance to turn out for your country so good luck to him and who knows where it could lead for him. "He's really excited about the prospect and is very much looking forward to the trip. We've told him to go any enjoy the experience and give it his best shot."
