Defender signs

10th August 2001
Former Moat favourite Stuart Evans who has agreed terms with Rovers manager John McGinlay.

Evans, who first signed in 1992 from Wolverhampton Wanderers, made over 270 appearances for the Rovers and will complete his return to the club before the game with Tamworth on Saturday.

The defender who left the Moat Ground in October 1996 in a £7,000 move to Halesowen Town has looked impressive during the pre-season games and McGinlay said today "I have wanted to sign him since I first saw him. The experience he will bring to the club will prove invaluable to us and the likes of Barry Woolley will benefit from that."
