In the First Division leaders Buxton slumped at Colwyn Bay but their two nearest rivals before play began Stocksbridge PS and Cammell Laird also lost.
Eastwood Town took full advantage beating Rossendale United 1-0 and moved up to second albeit ten points adrift of the leaders. Lairds suffered a rare home defeat as Goole came back from 2-1 down to win in stoppage time and Stocksbridge went down at Bradford Park Avenue who move back in to the play slots as a result. The come back of the day was at Harrogate Railway where Warrington Town were two down before storming back to win 4-2 whilst Ossett Albion's point at Alsager Town was their fourth consecutive 1-1 draw.
UniBond League Cup Draws
The draws for the quarter-finals of the UniBond League Challenge Cup and Chairman's Cup plus the draw for the semi-finals of the President's Cup were made on Wednesday and are listed below.
Should Matlock Town be able to overcome Gresley Rovers in their long delayed 2nd Round tie and then beat Kidsgrove Athletic there will be a repeat of the 2005 Final as the "Gladiators" will host Whitby Town whom they beat in a two legged Final two years ago. Two other former winners remain in the competition with 1971 victors Fleetwood Town at home to Grantham Town whilst three times winners Marine have an intriguing contest when they travel to Witton Albion. There will be at least one First Division club in the last four with Woodley Sports drawn at home to league newcomers Harrogate Railway Athletic.
The only previous winners of the President's Cup to have a chance of lifting it again this season are Buxton and they have been drawn at home in the last four against Stocksbridge PS who were beaten League Challenge Cup Finalists last April. The other semi-final sees Wakefield travel to either Matlock Town or Gresley Rovers. There will be a new name on the Chairman's Cup with none of the last eight having previously been successful in it. All the ties are to be played on Saturday 10th February apart from the game at Shepshed which will be delayed to the following midweek due to opponents Bridlington Town being involved in a County Cup game. The full draws are as follows -

Now Walker Quits At Warrington
Warrington Town's Glenn Walker has become the seventeenth managerial change of the UniBond campaign. He had been in charge for over three and a half years before quitting this week prior to Warrington playing Woodley Sports on Tuesday. Walker is replaced by his Assistant Ian Street who has managerial experience with St Helens Town and Atherton LR in the North West Counties League. Street has named Bob Howard, a coach at Everton, as his number two.
