Skelmersdale And UniBond Tv Rally To Baby Emma's Cause
Last Sunday saw UniBond First Division club Skelmersdale United throw its doors open to host a charity fund-raising day for two year old Emma Louise Clittie who is suffering from a very rare childhood cancer - neuroblastoma.
Two local companies supporting Emma's fight for life, Europanel and Centura, fought it out on the pitch with a guest appearance from former Liverpool defender Alan Kennedy. The proceedings were covered by UniBond TV who have announced that between now and the end of the season they will donate 50p from each weekly subscription and £3 from every £15 subscription to help bolster Emma's fund which was swelled by the Skelmersdale United day to £65,000.
The fund has been set up to send Emma to America where there are more options for treatment with one particular antibody treatment showing excellent results. Emma finishes her high dose chemotherapy in this country in May and the best time to have the antibody treatment is within 90 days of her treatment over here finishing. The hospital in the USA, however, cannot take Emma until the full amount required for her treatment has been raised so every day's delay is vital.
Anybody who wishes to help Emma can do so by logging on to the UniBond TV website via the UniBond League website or direct to Emma's website at www.babyemma.co.uk
