UniBond League News Issue 32

24th March 2007
Buxton carry on their merry way in the First Division and lead by eleven points after beating Gresley Rovers but Cammell Laird are waiting for any slip-ups after making it seven wins on the bounce with victories against Clitheroe and Harrogate Railway.

The latter had earlier in the week kept only their third clean sheet of the season when beating third place Eastwood Town who did recover to win on Saturday at Rossendale United who have been badly out of sorts since the turn of the year.

It was, however, only Eastwood's third win in nine games and another play-off hopeful finding the going tough at the moment is Stocksbridge PS whose draw at Alsager Town was their first point from the last nine on offer.

With defeat for Bradford Park Avenue at Woodley Sports and Colwyn Bay being held at home by bottom club Bridlington Town the last play-off spot is looking wide open and Ossett Albion will be rueful at the two midweek home points dropped to Shepshed Dynamo.

In form teams at the moment include Bamber Bridge and Kidsgrove Athletic who both made it four wins on the bounce whilst Chorley closed the gap on third bottom Wakefield FC to eight points when the two met with a 3-0 win.
