Rocester Pre-match News

20th July 2007
Manager Gary Norton is looking to use tomorrow's Don Hill Memorial game against Rocester to help whittle down the number of trialists ahead of the Bass Charity Vase clashes with Nottingham Forest and Burton Albion.

Said Norton: "I am looking to take a few less players to Rocester than we had against South Normanton (on Tuesday night) and will look to whittle the squad down to 18 or so.

"Certainly in the first friendly there were people who stood out, but it was difficult for some of them as they only got half an hour or 45 minutes.

"However, until we get confirmation of the existing lads who want to stay, it is difficult to know what areas we need to strengthen in."

Left-back Nicky Carter could make his first pre-season appearance at Hillsfield following a family bereavement.
