Burton Albion Pre-match News

31st July 2007
Manager Gary Norton is set to name a strong side, with Dave Clarke, Paul Edwards, Carl Slater, Nicky Carter, Dan Douglas, Andy Simpson, Tom Betteridge, Shaun Ridgway and Tom Groves likely to be involved.

New signings Adam Henchcliffe and Luke Edwards are set to play some part, and triallists Adam Thorley, Adam Barradell and Luke Farmer are also expected to be named in the squad.

Rovers, meanwhile, go into tonight's game needing a point to set up a Bass Charity Vase final re-run against the Brewers at the Pirelli Stadium on Thursday.

Albion cemented their place in the final with their 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest at Rocester's on Sunday.

With Forest and Rovers awarded a point each after the opening game of the competition was called off Norton's men know exactly what they need tonight.

Said Norton: "It would be fantastic to go to the Pirelli and manage there as I have never done that.

"It would be great for the players and if we did get to the final, I am sure there would be a good crowd too."
