First team friendly at Stapenhill

29th September 2001
Gresley Rovers have arranged a friendly at neighbours Stapenhill on Wednesday. KO 7.30pm

John McGinlay is to have talks with Nuneaton Borough to see if they will extend the loan of Nick Kennerdale at least for the game at home next Saturday against Shepshed Dynamos.
McGinlay is hoping ideally for another month from the striker.

The manager also scotched the rumours that big Kev is going to Atherstone. "It's true that they had put seven days in for him but that was about 2 or 3 weeks ago. After the game at Redditch I had a word with him and he said he wanted to stay at Gresley and I have heard nothing since," said the Moat boss.

John Allcock has also put his operation for a troublesome hamstring on hold hoping that the rest from a first team fixture will help heal the injury.

McGinlay said: " John has suprised me and himself by playing in the last couple of games. Give him his due he wanted to play and I am hoping the rest will have done him good."
