Northwood bring back top duo - Burton Mail

8th November 1985
Gresley Rovers central defenders Mark Bromley and Steve Dolby are restored to the side as the Moatmen continue their pursuit of the Banks’s Brewery West Midlands League championship tomorrow.

Rovers take on manager Frank Northwood’s old club Malvern Town at the Moat Ground (3pm).

And Bromley and Dolby, who both missed last Saturday’s impressive victory over Wednesfield Social are set to return to the side.

Northwood brings them back despite the fact that Roger Davies and David Nish fitted the places superbly against Wednesfield.

Northwood said: “You’ve got to pick your strongest side and as far as I’m concerned Steve and Mark are our first choice central defensive pairing. Roger and David did a very good job for us but I have an understanding with David that he only plays when we really need him. It’s not bad when you can call on an England international when you have injury problems.”
