Mark set for debut in cup - Burton Mail

29th November 1985
Gresley Rovers completed the transfer of goalkeeper Mark Griffiths last night – and he goes straight into the team for tomorrow’s Derbyshire Senior Cup clash with Buxton (3.00pm).

Griffiths, signed from Wednesfield Social, comes in for Martin McNamara who has been carrying a thigh injury for several weeks.

Otherwise manager Frank Northwood keeps the same side which lost 3 – 0 to Hinckley Athletic in the FA Vase last week – with the addition of recently signed midfielder Neil Bailey.

But the tie is under threat of postponement for the second time. A waterlogged pitch caused the first postponement a fortnight ago and now officials are concerned about snow and heavy frost.

There will be an inspection at 9.30am tomorrow.
