Gresley Rovers’ manager Frank Northwood has gone on a Christmas shopping spree.
Northwood revealed today that he had persuaded Wolves’ boss Sammy Chapman to loan 28-year old midfield man Kim Wassell.
And tonight he is hoping to finalise the transfer of Tamworth skipper ‘Pepsi’ West.
With Mark Bromley on holiday and Tommy Thompson currently serving a 14-day suspension, Wassell, who has made two league appearances this season, goes straight into the side for Boxing Day’s game at Atherstone (11 am).
Northwood said: “The lad’s done the rounds and we hope to keep him a couple of months before he goes off to play in Finland. He’s got an educated left foot and he puts his mind to it he’ll do a great job for us. As far as West is concerned, we’ve agreed to his transfer and hopefully everything will be finalised tonight. If everything goes through I might add him to our squad for the Atherstone game.”
