New boys in the firing line - Burton Mail

21st January 1986
Gresley Rovers manager Frank Northwood shows off two new signings in a special friendly at the Moat Ground tonight (7.30 pm).

Rovers take on Staffs. County League outfit Rushall Town and Northwood is taking the opportunity to assess two new players.

One is goalkeeper Carl Austin who is on trial with Rovers after a spell with Milton United of the Staffs. County League.

And the second “new face” is midfielder Dave King who starts his third spell at the Moat Ground.

The former Derby County apprentice who first left the Rovers to join York City has been playing in New Zealand.
