More seats plan at Moat Ground - Burton Mail

28th January 1986
Gresley Rovers, who last year installed floodlights at the Moat Ground, are preparing to embark on another major improvement scheme.

Club officials revealed last night that plans are well in hand to erect a seater stand capable of accommodating around 100 fans.

A price has already been agreed with a contractor for the steel framework which the club hopes will be in place by the end of the current season, leaving the summer free to fit the seats.

The stand will be built on the side opposite the dressing room block and main covered area, which already houses a modest seating area.

Gresley’s highly successful tote, which was re-launched in a different form at the start of the season, will help finance the project.

The tote competition is currently earning the club more than £250 per week and club officials are hoping to expand their network.
