Gresley Rovers and brewers Bass Worthington have announced a new sponsorship deal worth “a substantial amount” for the club.
The agreement means that the Rovers will play in a new strip this season bearing the Bass logo.
Gresley are thus linked with Derby County, Stoke City and Crewe Alexandra, who are all sponsored by Bass.
But the exact value of the sponsorship is not clear.
A Bass spokesman said this morning: “It’s hard to put a figure on it because the deal involves so much – but over the season it will be substantial.”
The deal was clinched at the Moat Ground yesterday by Rovers chairman David Nish and brewery representatives.
Said a club spokesman: “This type of backing will be a real boost for the club – we’re very grateful to Bass.”
