In and out at Moat - Burton Mail

26th September 1986
Gresley Rovers signed a new striker but were left searching for a new reserve team manager in an eventful weekend at the Moat Ground.

Rovers’ Frank Northwood ended a yearlong chase when he snapped up Peter Mould from Banks’s League rivals Chasetown.

Northwood said: “Mould is the type of consistent goal scorer we have been lacking to support Brian Beresford. He’s always given us a few problems and I have every confidence that he will do well at Gresley.”

There was less pleasing news, however, when reserve team manager Mick Plimmer announced he was leaving to take charge of Harrison’s.

Ironically, his departure was confirmed on the day that Rovers visited the managerless Great Wyrley side in the Banks’s League clash, which ended all square at2-2.

Northwood has already begun his search for a replacement and hopes to make an announcement later this week.
