Goal machine Brian Beresford is out of Gresley Rovers’ Banks’s League opener against Tividale at the Moat Ground tomorrow (3pm).

Beresford – 76 goals in his first two seasons with Gresley –is still nursing an eye injury which forced him to spend three days in hospital last week.

His place in Gresley’s line-up will almost certainly go to new capture Keith Hill, though manager Frank Northwood prefers to choose from a 14-man squad.
