Gresley trio out - Burton Mail

28th August 1987
Gresley Rovers will be without three first-team regulars for tomorrow’s FA Cup preliminary round clash with Banks’s League rivals Tamworth at The Lamb (7.30pm).

Newly recruited midfielder Joe Jackson and striker Keith Hill are on a soccer tour to Holland with their Sunday League side and Jon Laws is working in Paris.

Rovers’ boss Frank Northwood drafts Ian Earley and promising reserve team youngsters Jevon Payne and Russ Turner into a 13-man squad.

Northwood said last night: “It’s unfortunate that two of the boys will be playing abroad instead of at Tamworth but this trip was organised before they signed for us.

Rovers have been drawn away to Hinckley Athletic in the second round of the Banks’s League Cup.
