9th June 2002

Striker Simon Tucker has left Gresley Rovers to join Dr Martens Western Division rivals Sutton Coldfield Town.

According to The Non-League newspaper Sutton have pulled off quite a coup by snapping up Tucker.

He joined Gresley Rovers in October 2000 after spells with Barrow and local side North Bank and proved a prolific marksman at the Moat Ground before switching to Leek Town at the start of last season.

However, he was back at Gresley in February and took his tally of goals for the Moatmen to over 40 before being persuaded to join Sutton by manager Chris Keogh.
