Old rivals to visit the Moat Ground

26th June 2002
As part of the pre-season build up, old Wembley opponents Guiseley will visit the Moat Ground.

The Yorkshire club now in the Unibond Division One met Gresley in what has been arguably called "the greatest final ever played at Wembley". The 1991 classic ended 4-4 with Guiseley winning the replay at Bramhall Lane 3-1.

Guiseley asked to visit Gresley as part of their pre-season preparations and chairman Mark Evans was more than pleased to accept.

This game along with the visit of Unibond Division One champions Ossett Town and Barking have all been arranged after the clubs contacted Gresley Rovers.

"These are all clubs who expressed a wish to come to us and they are of an equivalent standing within the game," remarked Mark Evans.
