Gresley Rovers have landed the draw of the round in the quarter-finals of the Derbyshire Senior Cup.
The Moatmen have been paired away to Northern Premier League high-fliers Matlock Town.
Rovers, as the holders, were exempted to this stage of the completion and their only disappointment will be that they start their defence of the cup at Causeway Lane rather than the Moat Ground, where they would probably have attracted a larger crowd.
Stapenhill or Newhall United, who meet in the second round at Edge Hill on Saturday week, also face an away trip.
The winners will travel to meet Central Midlands Supreme Division outfit Heanor Town.
Full draw:
Matlock Town v Gresley Rovers; Alfreton Town v Buxton; Borrowash Victoria v Derby Prims or Biwater; Heanor Town v Stapenhill or Newhall United.
Ties to be played by February 4th.
Tenacious midfielder Neil Lovett is set to leave the Moat Ground. Lovett, a member of the squad, which won the Derbyshire Senior Cup last season, has failed to win a regular first team spot this term. Manager Frank Northwood said: “Neil has always said he is happy to be a squad member at Gresley, but now he’s decided that he wants to look elsewhere for his football.”
