Frank waits for Ian - Burton Mail

15th November 1988
Table-topping Gresley Rovers bid for their sixth straight win in the Banks’s League Premier Division tonight (7.30pm).

Rovers travel to Rushall Olympic, one of their principal rivals, fortified by Saturday’s impressive 3-0 at fourth-placed Lye Town.

That win maintained their four-point lead over second placed Paget Rangers and stretched Rovers’ unbeaten run to nine games, the last five of which have been won in impressive style.

Gresley boss Frank Northwood chooses from a 16-man squad for the trip to Walsall.

He delays his final decision until he can check on the fitness of Ian Wells, who had to be taken to hospital on Saturday after swallowing his tongue.
