Highly rated Gresley Rovers striker Jon Jenkinson has joined Burton Albion in a youth team "swap" deal with attacking midfielder Carl Timms.
The 17-year-old frontrunner gained first team experience with Rovers at the end of last season but has found himself well down the Moat pecking order since the arrival of Simon Tucker, Amrit Sidhu and Justin O'Reilly.
Rovers caretaker boss Alan Titterton said: "We wanted to keep Jon at the Moat Ground, but he goes with my blessing because I wouldn't stand in the way of any lad who thinks he can better himself."
Jenkinson has a prolific scoring record in youth football, topping Gresley's scoring chart last season and this.
