Turner may miss season - Burton Mail

22nd August 1989
Gresley Rovers’ classy defender Paul Turner could miss the rest of the season.

Turner, stretchered off during Saturday’s 2-1 defeat of Westfields, has snapped a tendon in his ankle.

Rovers’ boss Frank Northwood said today: “I’m afraid it’s a serious injury. The boy’s in plaster and he won’t be out of hospital until later this week. I feel sick for him. He’s a quality player who was really enjoying himself at Gresley.”

Turner’s spot is likely to go to Peter Perry in tonight’s Banks’s League Premier Division clash away to Paget Rangers (7.30pm).
