Gresley Rovers striker Paul Acklam has hit out at critics of his team’s fitness on the eve of tomorrow’s trip to Stourport Swifts (3pm).

“We were told we didn’t look fit after beating Westfields on Saturday but that was down to the heat and conditions. Against Paget on Tuesday we produced what was probably the best Gresley performance since I’ve been with the club.

“We won 3-1 when 1-0 would have been a great result. They’re going to be one of the top six sides and we’ve already got six points on them already.”
