We need the points! - Burton Mail

15th December 1989
Gresley Rovers boss Frank Northwood is predicting a tough time for the title favourites when they entertain high-flying Wednesfield tomorrow (3pm).

Wednesfield have risen to fifth in the league after beating Rocester on Saturday and Northwood said: “You can’t knock them. Terry Wharton has brought them out of the doldrums and done a super job.

“But we’re the home side tomorrow and we have to take the game to them. We need three points.”

Strikers Paul Acklam and Tracey Norton are in line for a recall but midfielder Neil Lovell is doubtful and Brian Beresford drops out with a knee problem.
