Gresley Rovers face another cup showdown with arch-rivals Rocester.

Hard on the heels of their JCB Trophy trouncing by the Romans, Gresley have been drawn away to them in the preliminary round of the Banks’s League Cup.

The tie will be played on September 22.

Rovers boss Frank Northwood checks on the form of trialists John Chamberlain and Peter Trowell tomorrow.

The Hucknall pair, recommended by the club’s Mansfield area scout, are included in a 17-man squad for a friendly at Hednesford (7.30pm).

Northwood also give former Burton Albion midfielder Paul Hudson another chance to impress.
