Former Derby County midfielder Stuart Stokes is set to make his debut for Gresley Rovers in tomorrow’s Banks’s League opener against Westfields at the Moat Ground (3pm).

Stokes is nursing a slight hamstring strain, but manager Frank Northwood hopes the youngster recovers in time to team up with Richard Denby at the heart of the team.

Long Eaton defender Scott Elliott another close season capture, is also included in a 15-man squad, but definitely out is striker Derek Christopher.

Gresley have cancelled Christopher’s registration because of his failure to train regularly and the former Paget man is expected to sign for Solihull Borough of the Scoreline Combination.
