Beazer blasted - Burton Mail

26th November 1990
Outspoken Gresley Rovers manager Frank Northwood fired another broadside at the Beazer Homes League after his side’s 3-1 FA Vase win at Racing Club Warwick.

After seeing his side clinch an extra time victory over the club that took the Beazer Homes place Gresley had hoped to win two seasons ago, Northwood blasted: “I hope the secretary of the league had a look at the attendance today and realises what kind of support Gresley Rovers have got.

“We’ve had more than 100 supporters here today and I would think teams like Racing Club Warwick would like to play the likes of us every week. I just can’t believe that a set-up like this could get a place in the Beazer league ahead of us.”
