First Time Visiting the Moat Ground?

Welcome!

If this is your first visit to watch Gresley Rovers at the Moat Ground let us give you some background. Gresley Rovers play in the Northern Premier League Division One South which is step four in the Non-League pyramid.

The league in which Gresley play is four levels below the football league but nonetheless it is competitive and enjoyable.

Gresley have a loyal band of supporters and we average around 300 at our home games which means the ground is never packed and you can move around the ground quite easily.

The Moat Ground is an old ground where a Gresley team has played since 1909. Years ago there were many grounds like the Moat but many have been replaced with more up-to-date stadiums. We are hopefully moving to a new ground in the near future so watch this space! Please have a look at our history.

Most non-league players at this level are semi-professional meaning most if not all have a day job and play and train in their own time. There are some very talented players in the Gresley squad. Some have had higher level experience playing in the Conference or football league and we also have some local lads which prove that players can play at a higher level of senior football.

We produce a match day programme 'Taken as Red' which will give you the background of our players and that of our opposition we are playing on that day. It also gives you all the up-to-date news about the club and any forthcoming events etc.

Please note that Moat Street is One Way so if you leave the club car park you MUST turn right to exit Moat Street.

The Moat Ground also has a Social Club located within the ground where beers, cider and lagers are on tap. There are bottled beers also available along with soft drinks.

The club shop is located within the ground and is open for all the first team games.
