Gresley Rovers have announced our pre-season friendlies starting with an away trip to Long Eaton United on Tuesday 4th July and scheduled to finish with Mickleover visiting the Moat Ground on Saturday 29th July.

Tonight, 7.30pm, Gresley's u18's take on Anstey Nomads Swifts at the Moat Ground.
Why not pop up and give the young Moatmen your support.

Gresley have added a further friendly playing Hednesford Town at the Moat Ground on Tuesday 1st August 7.45pm

Gresley Rovers have made their first signings of the new season. Re-signing for the club is Mason Frizelle defensive lynchpin of last season’s side. He has been superb for the last two seasons since joining the club.

Alby Lansdowne is the Latest player to recommit for 23/24 is manager's player of the year and standout performer last term. The versatile defender/midfielder has become the foundation of this Rovers side and really now fulfilling all of his promise shown in his early years at the football club. Again it is so important that we have local representation by players we have developed and nurtured ourselves, and Alby we feel is well on the way to becoming a club icon in the mould of Jamie Barrett and the likes. Great to have Alby staying with Rovers despite inevitable interest from elsewhere!
Bekir Halil was an important player last term and certainly the Mr Versatile of this Rovers squad, Becks was largely outstanding last season, and it is a real bonus that he will be remaining with the group for 23/24. Ever popular with supporters for his all action style and attitude, and really well liked within the dressing room by his team mates this is an important retention.

More fantastic news this evening as we are delighted to confirm an agreement with George Clark to remain with Rovers for 23/24.
What can be said about Clarky, still very young and raw but all at the club see nothing but a really bright future. Fantastic and an ever present since coming in from Cheltenham Town, the young full back has gone from strength to strength, and it is a real positive that he will once again be a Moatman next season.

Due to well documented problems at Hednesford Town, we will now be playing Shifnal Town on Tuesday 1st August at the Moat Ground - 7.45pm.

Two of our younger players have signed for next season.
Dylan Hunniford. Young youth team graduate Dylan will be with Rovers again for 23/24. An exciting prospect who has made a notable impression. We are expecting further development from Dylan and believe he has a bright future at the club.
Tyler Donaldson. Young defender Ty was a fixture in the side in the first half of last season having stepped up in levels, and really impressed. His season was hampered by injury which slowed his progress however we believe we have a real raw talent, and are over the moon he shall continue his development with us in 23/24.

We are delighted to confirm that midfield powerhouse Lewis Belgrave will be a Moatman once again in 23/24.
Bello took some time out at the end of the last campaign to focus on his studies however now returns refreshed and refocused. With a full pre-season behind him we real feel we have a player with the ability and potential to be one of the best no 8’s in the division. This is a big signing for the season ahead.
We are very pleased to announce the signing of attacking midfielder / deep lying forward James Tague from Belper Town.
Taguey carries really good experience for his age having previously played at Basford United, Matlock Town and Gainsborough, extensively at step 3.
We have acquired ourselves a top-class operator who will both create and score goals, and supporters will really enjoy watching play.
An exciting addition to our side!

100 club for May results
£250 - 54 Mick Haynes
£100 - 93 Stuart Bonser
£50 - 3 Adam Wildsmith
£50 - 55 Keith Barsby
£50 - 65 Des Gould

As we continue to shape our squad ahead of the new season, we are delighted to confirm that young forward James Spruce will remain with the club for 23/24. A young pro with Bristol Rovers, Sprucey burst onto the non-league scene running our own Steve Hart close for the UCL golden boot whilst with Heather St John’s, before stepping up in levels with Sutton Coldfield Town. A long-term target we finally got our man last season, and saw Sprucey contribute some critical goals at vital times. A player of real technical ability, we are excited about just how good he can become as he develops! Glad to have you back Sprucey!
June 2023

Gresley Rovers Football Club are delighted to announce the return to the Moat Ground of Steve Hart after the hugely popular forward agreed to return to the club.
Hart’s goals were instrumental in the promotion campaign to the Northern Premier League two seasons ago and he had similar impact at Quorn last season also helping them to promotion to step 4 where they will also be playing in the NPL Midland Division alongside Rovers However for the coming season the club are delighted that Steve has agreed a deal to return to the Moat Ground and he is looking forward to re-acquainting himself with supporters and team mates ahead of the new campaign...more

Riley Davoile
Delighted to acquire gifted central midfield player Riley for 23/24 season.
At 22 years of age Riley is looking to take a step up in level following two fantastic seasons with Coventry United where he has been club captain.
Riley is a technical midfielder who plays off both feet, and despite playing from a deep lying role is regular contributor of goals and often the spectacular. This is a player we believe can transcend levels and we are excited to work with him and see him develop.
Welcome to Rovers Riley!

James Harrison
Really happy to confirm that James will be remaining with the club for 23/24 season.
A local lad who plays with a real passion for the club, James is a hardworking and versatile attacking player who gives real flexibility to the squad and no shortage of quality.
Having spent a little time out on loan last season having impressed on our promotion winning season, James is looking to make his mark this term.

Charlie Leak
A welcome to the club for a player we have previously seen in Rovers colours. Young homegrown goalkeeper Charlie Leake makes a long overdue return to the club.
One of the best young prospects they have seen come through a youth system in the view of the management, it has been of much frustration. That Charlie has not applied himself to his football and has lost 18 months of experience and development. Still young we really hope to see Charlie become the goalkeeper and player club that we all believe he can be... more

As our recruitment and squad build draws to a close ahead of players returning to pre-season training next week, we are delighted to announce the signing of defender Jayden Cotterill from Belper Town.

A warm welcome to Rovers to locally based ace marksman Jamie Sleigh.
Jamie rose to prominence at Heanor Town where he has scored an incredible 147 goals in 174 appearances.
His success at Heanor Town also resulted in a two year stint with Stafford Rangers, where Jamie again found himself amongst the goals at step 3.
Having struggled for goals last season this is an exciting addition and we are so pleased to have this over the line and welcome Jamie into the fold.
Now just a week to go until the lads are back into training, and we look forwards to being back out on the grass!

Hello to all our supporters and I hope you are thoroughly enjoying the summer and this beautiful weather we are having. The dust has now settled on what was a turbulent season where ultimately, we achieved what we set out to do remaining in the Northern Premier League after promotion the previous campaign. However, it was tough and a huge contrast from the season before where we won so many games and scored so many goal
