Soccer fan Jamie Wright found his match of the day on Saturday - after proposing to sweetheart Lindsey Stretton over Gresley Rovers tannoy system.
Rovers fan Jamie 29, of Midway, asked his 23-year-old girlfriend of three months to be his bride via a note handed to Rovers' announcer Dave Rider before the game against Solihull Borough.

It read: "A message to Lindsey Stretton from Jamie - will you marry me?"
To Jamie's delight his "shocked" girlfriend immediately replied: "I will."

Lindsey of Church Gresley, who works with her husband-to-be at Overseal Foods in Overseal, confessed: "It wasn't a surprise - it was a shock."

But she warned: "It's going to be a long engagement."
Alas the couple's memorable day ended on a low as their team crashed to a 2-0 defeat.
