Moatmen missing Smith

Gresley Rovers striker Kieron Smith misses tonight’s West Midlands League trip to Oldbury Town (7.30).
Smith suffered a bruised leg in Saturday’s 3-0 win at Wednesfield, with former Burton Albion striker Chris Meyer taking his place in a 14-man squad.

Manager Frank Northwood predicts a tough examination of his side’s title credentials as Roves seek to maintain the pace at the top of the Premier Division with a fifth straight league win.

But the Moat chief insists that he will stick with three central defenders, saying: “I felt our formation was a success at Wednesfield. We kept a clean sheet while we conceded two at Willenhall with a flat back four. We’ve got the players to use this system, we just need a bit of practice.”
