Gresley Rovers won the Unison East Midlands Womens League Cup final in some style, beating Division Three rivals Harborough Town 7-1.
Gresley started brightly with the wind at their backs and were rewarded after just one minute when, following a scramble in the box, Nicci Holmes hooked in the first goal.

Gresley's relentless pressure again paid dividends on 20 minutes when Jemma Connor scored direct from a corner kick.

On 35 minutes Harborough struck back but their celebrations were soon cut short three minutes later when Connor's superb corner was headed home by Holmes.

Gresley's fourth goal followed in spectacular style on 44 minutes when the impressive Connor unleashed a 35-yard strike that hit the cross bar, rebounded onto the keeper and nestled in the net.

After 10 minutes of the second half a delightful ball by Connor freed Vicky Mydzn, who beat the offside trap and the advancing keeper to slot home number five.

Five minutes later Holly Bodell scored a delightful number six when she literally danced round numerous tacklers to slot home.

The rout was completed on 75 minutes when Lyndsey Hopton turned in the box and thundered home number seven.
