McGinlay signs striker and midfielder
Manager John McGinlay has signed former Stoke City striker David Shaw, and former Crewe midfielder Lee Westwood and negotiations are also continuing with Stuart Evans.
John will use tomorrows game against Hucknall and next Wednesday's match against Hednesford to experiment with his squad.

"After Hucknall and Hednesford there will be no more experimenting as there is no point in waiting until the season has started to try one or two things out." he said.

Following those games Rovers will have two more friendlies against Tamworth and Congleton before the league kicks off.

"I hope to field a team close to the one that starts the season for the final two games." said McGinlay.

McGinlay also denied reports that Mick Sandar is to join Borrowash Victoria.

Sandar scored for the Vics when they beat a Rovers side. McGinlay had allowed the striker to play to help in regaining his fitness after breaking his leg.

McGinlay said:" We let him play for Borrowash so he had chance to regain his fitness. He played against Newhall United but had to come off because his leg was sore. There has been some interest in him from Borrowash but his first choice is to stay at the Rovers and he is still very much in our thoughts".
