Blenkinsopp Signs
Top scorer David Blenkinsopp has given the club's supporters the news they have all been waiting for by agreeing a new one year deal that will keep him at the Moat Ground for the 2008/9 season.
Blenkinsopp who has scored 24 goals in 31 starts this term has had a disrupted season after being blighted by back, hamstring and foot injuries but manager Gary Norton is hoping that the coming season will see him build on what he has achieved this season.

He commented: "We have been in talks with David about next season for some weeks with all the off field problems we have had this year I expected the discussions to continue into the summer. However, after positive meetings this week with both Mark Harrison and Gary Brockway he was happy to agree to stay for another season. We are obviously delighted with the news."

Norton added: "David has missed a lot of games through injury this season and in fact he has played in many games where he was carrying knocks and not 100% fit and yet he has still managed to score 24 goals for us. With a couple of months rest in the summer and full preseason behind him we are very much hoping he can put this seasons injury problems behind him and be even more prolific next season."
