Alvechurch Pre-Match News
Gresley Rovers continue to be without the services of the holidaying Mickey Lyons and Jamie Hood but could be boosted by the return of Miles Chamberlain.
The central defender missed the 2-1 Bank Holiday win against Willenhall with a foot injury but it has responded well during the week and subject to him coming through a fitness test he could be included in the squad.

If Chamberlain is declared fit then manager Gary Norton will have a selection dilemma with both Nathan Morris and Dan Douglas playing well in Monday's game at the heart of defence.

Norton is sweating on the fitness of both Robbie Banks (Calf) and Brian Woodall (ankle) after both picked up knocks in training on Thursday night.

Norton said: "Robbie's calf was feeling tight during training so as a precaution we pulled him out of the remainder of the session.

He added: "Brian could be a doubt after he went over on the ankle he injured on the opening day of the season. It swelled up quite quickly and we will have to see how it settles down overnight.

"With up to 7 substitutes allowed in this season's FA Cup ties, youth team pair Nathan Ralph and Luke Taylor have been added to the squad"

Meanwhile winger Chris Sleath is set to join Midland Alliance outfit Rocester on loan with Norton saying: "Steve Swannick called us this week and asked us if we had got anyone available to help him out.

"We had been discussing with Chris the possibility of him going out somewhere at that level for a few games so it's a deal that suits both parties at this time.

"Chris has been training hard and is still very much part of the first team plans here but at the moment he needs games and Rocester will be good for him.

"He is a non contract player so we have an agreement with Rocester that we can call him back at any time. They have no game this weekend so he will train with them on Saturday, sign for them and be part of their squad for their next game on Tuesday.

Barry Woolley could be out of action for a further 8 weeks after being assessed by physio's at Derby County. The 6ft 4" defender accompanied by physio Sam MacGregor had the shoulder he dislocated in the pre-season game against Eastwood Town assessed yesterday.

Physio MacGregor said: "With physiotherapy we might be able to take a little time out of things but at this stage its looking like Barry could be out for a further 7-8 weeks. He can start some running and fitness work now and we will know more in three weeks time when we will get Barry looked at again."
