Greenwood Meadows Pre-Match News
David Blenkinsopp

David Blenkinsopp

The signing of David Blenkinsopp has given the club a timely boost after he joined the club today from Halesowen Town in time for tomorrow’s game against Greenwood Meadows.
The former Moat Ground favourite has been snapped up by manager Gary Norton and will boost a squad currently heavily depleted by injury and on a poor run of form of late.

In addition to the return of Blenkinsopp the manager also welcomes back Rob Spencer and Stefan Marshall after the duo missed Wednesday's defeat against Gedling Town due to work commitments whilst Tom Land also returns to the squad after missing the midweek game through being cup tied. Norton also hopes to have some injured players back in contention with Royce Turville and Brian Woodall set for fitness tests ahead of the game.

Definitely out are Tom Betteridge (foot), Rhys Powell, Matt Hill and Martin Gadsby (hamstrings) with the latter two hoping to be in contention for a midweek return to the squad in the game against Holwell Sports.

Jack Coulson continues his recovery from his ankle problem but in any case is suspended at the moment due to his sending off at Holbrook a few weeks ago.

Norton also hopes to have at least one more new face joining the squad before Wednesday’s East Midland’s League registration deadline. The club had last week served two seven day notices for players which have now expired meaning the manager is now free to speak to the players concerned.
