New faces join the board of Gresley as the Club retakes ownership of the Moat Ground.
Gresley FC have named some new directors after taking full control of the Moat Ground once again. Former club Gresley Rovers went into administration and so the administrators owned the ground until this new deal was agreed.

It effectively means that the club are free to move forward and in a strong position to build on what has been a good season on the pitch. The latest additions to the Boardroom include Derek Simon and Jamie Whitfield of construction company Fothergills Limited which they co founded in 2007.

They along with Kevin Gladstone of Allied Steel Frame Structures Limited have made a substantial investment to enable the club to take ownership of the Moat Ground.

Jamie Whitfield confirmed that both he and Derek were delighted to be getting involved in Gresley FC at this time. “We’re both interested in getting a business plan in place that will take this club forward and football is a business regardless of the league you’re in. We’re going to improve certain aspects of the Moat Ground but we’re looking to the longer term and our future is elsewhere in the district.”

“The new members of the Board are here in the long term and what makes this so exciting is that there are a lot of positive people here none more so than recently appointed Director Kevin Gladstone and Gary Brockway, who has been with Gresley FC since the formation of the new company.”

Kevin Gladstone of Allied Steel Frame Structures Limited said, “I joined the board during the season we’ve just completed and it’s a great community club that we want to develop. We’re putting into place something step by step that will serve the club well in the long term and we won’t be looking for a short or medium term fix.”

The Chairman of Gresley FC, Mark Harrison, added, “These are straight talking businessmen who are joining the board and I hope it demonstrates to our fans that we are stepping things up behind the scenes. We believe we have a board which comprises many of the essential skills that are needed.”
