Frank signs ex-United man
Story courtesy of Burton Mail
Gresley Rovers boss Frank Northwood has made a dramatic transfer swoop in a bid to solve his side’s midfield problems.
The man Northwood has signed is former Manchester United reserves Robert Philpot.

Philpot was in the youth team squad at Old Trafford and had had several games for United’s reserve team before being released.

He was also a member of the England Youth tem squad and plays in a centre midfield role.

Northwood said: “Obviously I think it’s a good signing and I’m delighted.”

Philpot goes straight into the team for tomorrows Banks’s West Midland League home game against struggling Shifnal Town (3pm).

Northwood has also warned that three more new faces could be on their way in the nest few days.

Fit again goalkeeper Martin McNamara is back in the side for tomorrow’s game replacing Nicky Griffiths.
