Halesowen Pre-Match News
Gresley FC are back on cup duty as the travel to The Grove to take on Halesowen Town in the final qualifying round of the FA Trophy and both sides will be hoping to make it to the 1st Round Proper when the Conference 'big boys' enter the fray.
The Moatmen were handed a trip to high-flying Wrexham last season and were unlucky not to have brought them back to the Moat after a narrow 2-1 defeat.

Halesowen won the Division One South title last season but have found life in the Premier Division a little tough but are now beginning to find their feet and are steadily moving up the table so Gresley are aware of how tough the trip will be and will need to be at their best to progress.

Gresley manager Wayne Thornhill will once more have to make decisions on his starting line-up with Lucas Harrison sitting out his final game of a three match ban and influential skipper Jamie Barrett away on holiday.

There are concerns over fellow defender Mitch Hanson who had to leave the game on Tuesday at Norton due to a back problem but Thornhill is hoping his 'Mr Consistent' will have recovered. Alex Steadman, who missed the midweek game due to a virus, is also a doubt.

Thornhill has taken steps to strengthen his side in time for the Trophy game by signing young Ilkeston defender Jake Carlisle who will go straight into the squad.

The unfortunate John Guy is still awaiting the date for a scan on his troublesome knee.
